An intensive course on developing and understanding the newest addition to Microsoft’s development family using ASP.NET and the .NET framework. This course focuses on building skills the web developer possesses and leveraging that knowledge to create the next generation of web technologies while concentrating on building solid fundamental knowledge in the .NET framework and architecture.
Building and deploying Web applications have never been easier. ASP.NET brings the following key innovations to Web development.
- ASP.NET simplifies application development. ASP.NET uses an event-driven programming model that is similiar to that of Visual Basic.
- ASP.NET lets you separate code and content. This enables you to change programming logic without affecting the layout of a site, and vice versa.
- You can program ASP.NET in any .NET language. You can use VB.NET, JScript.NET, and C#.NET. C#.NET does have the advantage of being a full-blown object-oriented language that helps you model robust applications.
- ASP.NET simplifies application configuration. A centralized XML file is responsible for the storage of Webapplications settings.
- ASP.NET simplifies application deployment. You just need to copy your files to another server to install your Web application. You no longer have to install components and reboot server.
- ASP.NET supports multiple devices.ASP.NET delivers a rich user interface to Internet Explorer clients. Other browsers that do not supports the level of interactivity Internet Explorer implements will just receive HTML 3.2- compliant pages.
- ASP.NET offers improved application tolerance. Processes that fail are automatically restarted.
- ASP.NET offers improved scalability. You can cache ASP.NET applications to improve performance. You can also store session state in either a special state server or an SQL database.

The goal of this course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills they need to develope ASP.NET applications using C#.NET for the Microsoft .NET Platform. The course focuses on C# program structure, language syntax and implementation details.
